New student tips
Helpful information for those new to Hadley Yoga Studio
your first visit
All new students will be asked to complete a contact form and sign a liability waiver before practice. Please arrive 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled start time to complete paperwork, meet your teacher, and get oriented to the studio.
arrive 15 minutes ahead
The studio opens 15 minutes before the scheduled start time to allow you to set up your mat and gather your props. Returning students, please plan to arrive at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time to set up your practice space.
health and safety
Please inform your teacher about any health issues, injuries or limitations that may affect your practice. All of our teachers are happy to offer modifications to accommodate your needs.
what to bring
Mats and props are provided, though you are welcome to bring your own mat if you wish.
Please take them off before you enter the studio, please. After class put them back on in the hall. Place them on the floor of the closet.
Bring coats, bags, and other personal belongings into the studio with you. Store them in a cubby in the closet.
Don't leave belongings in the hallway—it's public and things have gone missing.
If you happen to be late, consider that we're in meditation and enter quietly, sitting inside the door until we begin movement. Gather your props and put away your things only then.
As people file into class be aware of space issues; move your mat if needed to make equal room for all.
There are more than a few of us with allergies or sensitivities; unscented products work best for the studio (and for the planet).
Let us know when it's your birthday—you get a head, neck and shoulder massage &/or some Reiki during savasana (restorative posture at the end of class)!
bring a friend
With your enrollment in a series you get to bring (or send) a guest to class for free.
